19th Century English Rosewood Tea Caddy with Mother Of Pearl Inlay

$ 525.00 $ 275.00
SKU: UVNWWQ

Details: Antique Rosewood English tea caddy featuring mother of pearl inlaid circles connected by thin inset strips of brass, a rectangular mother of pearl piece in the center framed by a carved wooden border on the top, an inlaid crest-shaped keyhole (key included) and is raised on four mother of pearl ball feet. The interior has two silver, foil-lined compartments with rosewood lids that flank a circular compartment containing a glass (also included) for mixing teas. The inside of the lid is painted in an oxblood red, adding a handsome element to the contrast between the beautiful grain of the rosewood against the opalescent M.O.P inlay. This piece makes a wonderful gift for a traditional tea drinker and lends an Old World, masculine touch to any bar, kitchen or office!

Dimensions: 11.75"w x 6"d x 6"h (3.5 Lbs)

Condition: In gorgeous condition. One of the strips of brass is missing from the top design and there are a couple of chips on the top corner and on one of the lower side edges (see detailed photos). Key is not believed to be original, yet is functional to lock the piece if desired.
