Details: 18th century French walnut buffet a deux corps (2 pieces) originally purchased from "Voyage en France Antiquités & Décoration" in 2002 for $11,400. Beautifully grained wood panels, peg and groove construction, reeded front edges, scalloped bottom apron on short cabriole front feet and a simple carved swirl motif. This piece features pewter single length hinges and decorative filigree key holes and has a key that comes with a burgundy, green and gold chenille "houle" tassel. The inside of the top is lined with cheerful red fabric, has an opening for media and 2 shelves. A floral fabric has been used on the walls of the bottom's interior, there are 2 openings cut for media wires and one shelf. The bottom left door latches from inside and the lock is functional. There is a discreet pull out shelf with thin metal ring pulls that makes this piece functional as a desk or secretary, a media cabinet, as well as for storage of linens and china in addition to its intended purpose. Fabulous!
