Details: Antique Scandinavian wedding trunk featuring hand painted bouquets of flowers on the front and top of the chest. The ornate writing is difficult to read, however, it looks as if the original owner used this trunk when they immigrated to Eau Claire, Wisconsin and painted their address under the original ornate lettering, which makes this piece interesting. Iron straps bind this sturdy piece together, it has decorative metal scalloped edges on the sides of the top and large iron handles on each end adorn a gold painted cross. The interior is open with a narrow compartment on the upper left side. A beautiful piece for the rustic European home!
