Details: Early 20th century Art Nouveau carved walnut parcel-gilt salon set attributed to Georges de Feure (Dutch/French, 1868–1943) who was a versatile artist, as well as a set designer that created paintings, fine furniture, porcelain, pottery, art glass, silverware, jewelry, as well as many well-known graphic arts and posters. The gorgeous set is comprised of a settee, two armchairs and two side chairs and is upholstered in a bronze mohair with ornate complimentary gimp trim. Each piece has a beautifully carved iris motif with expansive leaves on the back splat and arms that have painted in a burnished gold parcel-gilt. The slightly twisted front legs ending in pegged feet add to the romantic movement of this set.
