Details: Beautiful cast iron Chinese War horse featuring an ornate saddle, a full mane and a bobbed tail and mounted on a beveled footed rectangular wooden base. Power, beauty, and freedom symbolize the horse in the Chinese culture. According to Chinese scholars, the first domestication of the horse in China is thought to have occurred during the Longshan period. Horse drawn war chariots were in use in China during the Shang Dynasty (circa 1,450 – 1,050 BCE). Exact age unknown.
