Details: Sculptural rocking chair made from a bent hardwood known as ''Che-Chent'', or Caribbean Rosewood. Meticulously crafted and finished in the workshop of master cabinet maker, Salvador Vidal in Cancun, Mexico circa the late 20th century. The handcrafted wood frame is dark brown with a wavy grain featuring gold and red highlights. This beautiful wood has a high natural lustre and finishes very well, which makes it excellent for making furniture and cabinets. Each chair has a carved serial number on the bottom. Very comfortable to sit in for people with frames over 5'7" tall (for feet to rest on the ground since the seat slopes upward in front), despite the wood slats. Great head, back and arm support-We recommend throwing a sheepskin hide on it for added softness and aesthetic appeal. A piece of artwork, as well as a wonderful chair for relaxing and contemplating.
