Details: Pair of vintage pagoda style demi lune tables made from Guanacaste or Acacia Raintree, which is prized for its beautiful golden brown hue and wavy wood grain. Demi-lune tables, named for their half moon shape, work especially well as a pair: they are versatile and can flank either side of a doorway or be placed back to back and float in a room. These tables feature a carved reeded detail on their open stretchers and curved arms that connect the underside of the table top to the inner stretcher. It is uncertain how old these tables are, however, square nails were used on the undersides and the rest of the table is constructed using only fitted grooves, which indicate they may be antiques. Frequently round tables like this were originally used in the garden pavilions of upper class 19th century Chinese homes.Rustic tables that add character and texture to a coastal or ethnic décor!
