Details: 18th century cast iron fireback purchased from an old forge in Provence (France) featuring the relief of a lion in a ring, flanked by two potted laurel trees with ornate scrolled motif on the bottom in a square bordered frame. A great addition to any mantel, as a backsplash behind a stove and can be use in and actual fire, very strong and sound fireback!
Dimensions: 15.75"w x .25"d x 15.75"h (22lbs)
Condition: In excellent condition consistent with age- does have a slightly rusty patina in places, which adds to the piece's Old World charm and the scroll relief on the bottom is not as sharp as the other relief detail.
