Details: Flemish jacquard wool wall tapestry depicting a village scene in the Belgian countryside in rich hues of gold, blue, rose, green and brown. The border design is made up of intricate fruits and flowers interspersed with lions on each ends of the flowers and eight medallions depicting children, a maiden, a soldier and a mother with child. 82" long black iron twisted hanging bar (non-adjustable) with fleur de lis finials and six ring clips included (no wall brackets). Backed in a navy muslin with a 5.5"wide opening for hanging bar.
Original design from the 1500's has been since reproduced by Gobelins in Paris and then again by a tapestry factory in Brittany where it was purchased 35 years ago.
