Details: Vintage carved rectangular alabaster bas relief panel featuring a beautiful Quan Yin wearing a headdress adorned with lotus flowers. A Quan Yin is an East Asian bodhisattva associated with compassion as venerated by Mahayana Buddhists. She is commonly known as the "Goddess of Compassion and Mercy" in English. The Chinese name Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin, meaning "The One Who Perceives the Sounds of the World". This piece is beautiful in an indoor or outdoor setting and can be professionally mounted on a wall.
