Details: One of Elinor McGuire's most iconic and enduring designs for McGuire of San Francisco are the M-90 "Cracked Ice" bamboo dining chairs, featuring oval backs that frame a geometric design of rattan sticks connected with a proprietary process that includes wrapping the joints in rawhide. Each chair has curved, sloped arms, a caned seat, fretwork detail on upper portion of the front legs and a linear stretcher- all finished in a black finish with light brown undertones. A brass plate can be found on the underside of each piece, which is the mark of quality construction that has made McGuire famous for decades. These iconic chairs are roomy, tend to lean slightly back, rather than upright and the cushions have enough give to make them comfortable, while protecting the integrity of the caning. The set comes with eight 2.5" thick removable polyurethane cushions that have teal colored mohair covers with zippers for easy removal.
Dimensions: 22"w x 19.5"d x 37"h Seat= 21.25"w x 17"d x 18"h (with cushion) Arm=26"
Condition: The caned seats are all perfect. There are some minor scuffs on the frames and one of the chairs appears to have a loose piece of rattan on the splat, that has been repaired. The cushions could use a cleaning and are slightly sun faded and have some spots (see detailed photos).
