Details: Vintage chinoiserie cabinet by John Widdicomb Co. (USA) featuring painted scenes in bronze, gold, brown and antique white against a mottled black background with gold gilt edges throughout. The top piece boasts an exaggerated scalloped crest with a center finial that surmounts two glass doors covered by a muted gold, woven, metal wire screen embellished with geometric four leaf flowers. The arched doors are framed by a painted geometric starburst border with alternating trailing vines. The interior is lined in a marigold colored taffeta and has three 10" deep, adjustable glass shelves.The lower portion of the cabinet, which is raised on pagoda feet, is comprised of two small cabinet doors that open to reveal a compartment measuring 36"w x 11.5"d x 14"h. All of the doors have ornate antique brass hardware that close securely with interior magnets. The cabinet has two bulbs on the underside of the top and a line switch that extends out from the back a bit, so that the interior can be illuminated to showcase crystal barware, china, a book collection or decorative objects.
