Details: Pair of early 20th century French cast bronze candle sconces featuring four ornate trumpet arms ending in scrolls that stem from a ring being held in the mouth of a regal lion's head, creating a 4 5/8" diameter circular wall plate. The candleholders are attached on to the discs with threaded screws, which is convenient for cleaning purposes. These sconces are very heavy, yet make a dramatic statement and ideal if viewed from above or below, rather than eye level, to optimize one's enjoyment of the aesthetic design. Wonderful indoors or out in a garden to add a bit of Old World charm and ambiance!
Dimensions: 17"w x 11"d x 8.5"h ( 14 lbs each)
Condition: In excellent condition, with a blackish patina that mutes the gold finish, creating a gothic appeal. The back of each sconce is concave with a bar flanked by two holes for hanging. The sconces are not electrified, yet the movable candle holders would make this a simple alteration if desired.
