Details: Original pastel landscape titled "Wind On The Planes" by acclaimed American Impressionist, Lorenzo Chavez. The artist's works are inspired by the deep blue of the vaulting sky, majestic cloud formations, rabbit brush, pinon, pine and juniper bushes, the willows that line the stream banks, the granite in the mountain ranges, aspens and the endless seas of grasses that are attributes to his native surroundings of New Mexico and current home in Colorado. This particular piece exhibits a beautiful use of color and depicts a desolate dirt road flanked by windswept brush, leading to a purple-hued mesa in the distance. Signed in the lower right hand corner, as well as on the back along with the title. Framed in a burnished antique gold, bevelled frame with ecru silk matting and UV protective plexiglass.
Dimensions: Frame=27"w x 1.5"d x 20"h (6.5 lbs) Artwork=10" x 17.5"
Condition: The artwork itself is in perfect condition, however, is a bit loose from the matting on the upper edge, a bit of dust has accumulated along the bottom edge of the interior matting and a blemish on the inside of the glass along the right edge (see detailed photos).
A Bit About the Artist: Lorenzo Chavez was born and raised in the southern most point of the Rockies in New Mexico. His first inspirations and foundation as a young artist were formed by the local landscape and the art history in New Mexico. Using pastel and oil mediums, his hope is to carry on the art traditions of American painters such as the Taos Society of Artists and the American Impressionists. Lorenzo is represented by many major fine art galleries and many private and corporate collections both nationally and internationally.
